Hello I would like to know what diameter the standard front discs from an fd are if anyone happens to be walking past their car with a tape measure?
  cheers, michael.

294mm diameter x 22mm thick according to //www.brakeparts.co.uk (neve bought anything from them ... but look stuff up all the time LoL )

cheers MIke. I have bought a set of fd calipers and am intending on using them with some capri discs which are about 250mm in diameter. Should be ok I think??? opinions welcome.
 cheers, michael.

its the thickness thats a little more important. The diameter depends more on the mounting, although you may run into problems with the full area of the pads not being fully utilised ?(I\'ve seen other people doing this ...G force racing in the states for example with no apparent problems)

Hmmm I think that the thickness will be ok as they are vented.
 thanks again, cheers, michael.

I take it you are using 2.8i ones ? all the others are only 13mm thick (non vented?)

the 2.8i etc. ones are 20mm thick so I can\'t see them being a problem with FD calipers (the brake pads must have 20mm of wear in a pair so 2mm total thickness difference isn\'t going to matter much. (I\'m sure they have more than 1mm extra travel on the pistons for peace of mind)
