Hi All

Can someone let me know or tell whee to find what the timing set up will for a 12a

Also do you take it form which lead?

Thank you very much

Brett

I\'m moving this to the technical section.

If its anything like the later 13B, there will be a pin above the main pulley, on the pulley there are two marks (red and white I believe) this represent trailing and leading. I think, its been awhile though.

If you mean: "on which lead do I attach the timing light", then, it Number 1. That is , the Rotor closest to the front of the car.

The important one is the Leading, it does the most work. The Trailing will fire just after Leading ( that why its called Trailing !). Maybe 5 degrees, or anything up to 20 degrees after, depending on which car/model you have.

assuming stock porting and intake:

1977-83 12a= 2 degrees BTC leading and 19 degrees ATC trailing

1984-85 12a= 20 degrees BTC leading and  20 degrees trailing

double check timing marks on center pulley as mine were heavily corroded and hard to read

got all this from racingbeat and worked a treat on my 85 12a off boost.

good luck!
