Can anyone let me know roughly how much it costs to fill up a Type R and how many miles they get to it?

At the minute my P1 costs £40 to fill right up and I get about 240 miles to a tank.

Just interested to know how this compares to the Rx.

Edited cos I\'m thick and can\'t spell!

can squeeze £55 pound in about 60 ltrs, will last from 150 to 200 on average depending on right foot, or 225 to 300 miles on motorway. obviously more mods may lose you mpg. but good ecu may get it back.

Jesus! thats a bit more thirsty than my P1 but I\'m sure I\'ll cope :D

Hi G11ARY

Worked out a rough mpg from your costings and 300mls for 60ltr tops is about 22.5 if my maths is right. Is this car modded cuz my late 98, almost standard, is giving me 13 round town up to about 17 on the motorway and I don\'t have a heavy foot.

I know anyone concened about fuel economy has no business in an rx, however I would hate to be wasting fuel. Any suggestions as to how I can check settings etc. Being a later model is has the standard 16bit ECu and on an earlier post someone said this is supposed to return better fuel economy.

Oh by the way got your letter today - thanks m8............
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

lasy year driving to elvington for totb in a motec 375-400 bhp at approx 100 mph I got 275 out of a tank. but your workingit out on an extreme that i posted. Now look at the 150 mile per tank for booting it around mixed milage on average and you are looking at 11mpg so your not that far out.

Glad you got letter, will speak soon.

also although the car was modded the motec deff saves money on fuel as should any programable ecu coz you can have more control over fueling and not just have an ecu just chuck it in to be on the safe side.

I\'ve been keeping a log of mpg (got an app on my phone that works out all sorts) and fuel is basicall costing 25p per mile...

that\'s an average of ~16mpg using optimax, daily drive 50/50 slow london and fast motorway.

I\'ve given up using my Palm for work but keep it in the glovebox with a neat program called RMRFuel (understands UK gallons), recent mpgs at each tank fill:

Stock ECU: 19.29, 15.3, 19.55
Apexi ECU - Base Map: 17.93, 17.56, 15.81, 18.04

On long motorway journeys at 80-85mph with occasional higher speed :-) I\'ve got 23mpg.

Car is stock apart from ECU change

i get about 100-120 miles on a full tank :(

John Yorke

There is a certain person that lives in Scotland who boasts 350 -400 to the tank full.
I would like to claim the record for the amount put in a tank 64.5 litres:D
Have managed 280 -300 on a tank [ mostly motorway / fast road] average is 200 ish:cool

BlitzBoy

John I beat your fill up record, I squeezed in 72 litres last week right up to the filler neck, got 260 miles out of that one, but my lead foot I normally only get 210 miles

Eeek,

How large is the tank ?

I thoguht it was 70 litres, not 60, and as I\'m doing jsut over 230 miles a day at present I\'ve not got as much spare as I thought (been doing ~18 MPG)
