Craig, firstly welcome on board.

The main thing you will find is that all the FD\'s share the SAME engine, the later models (98 onwards) use different turbos nad different vacum piping layout but other than that, the main differences are down to suspension and interior.

Have a look at the sticky at the top of the page, and this will give you a breakdown of each version.

Hi Craig,

As Fish mentioned, best bet is to browse / search the message board, you should find will answer all your questions..

Book wise, RX7 Mazda\'s Rotary Engine Sportscar by Brian Long & Takaharu Kobayakawa is a good read... but may need to be a special order item from your local book shop.

There are quite a few RX7 DVD\'s out there, but you need to understand Japanese for the Best Motoring, Option, etc...

thanks for the help :D  and it has helped make me mindup big thanks know what i want now:cool

haha Craig M8, i like ur aftar.

Funnily enough the chap who owns that FD is maybe planning (50/50), to put her up for sale soon.

From what i have been told she sadly gets very little use (due to the owner having a GTO and family car, and also work commitments), and is kept locked up in rented garage a mile away from his home (due to space restrictions).

Compression tested and serviced @ GPA / Reworks...

Have fun browsing the board until your dream rotary turns up...
