dont bother with any exhaust place - they are useless

for mine - i went to mazda - but then mine isnt 3inch ( oooeerrr missus )

brett said that you used to bebale to buy exhaust gasket sheeting that you cut to shape - not sure if you still can

if you have the old gasket - just take it to the local car places and see if they can match it with ANYTHING - im sure they could ??

I dont have an original as i made the flange, (along with the rest of the exhaust),  i will try Extreme in harlow as they have a Powerflow exhaust place (custom make them) to see if they have them,  if not i am stuck!  You cant seem to buy gasget sheet anymore and there arnt may standard cars with 3" pipes!!

my dad made me a gasket that seemed to work fine

we used some wierd 3 mm thick fibreglass type thing that they put on the inside of motorbike fairing so stop the exhaust melting them

i didnt beleive what my dad said - so tried to set fire to it with a lighter - and it didnt burn

we cut that to shape and it seemed to work fine ( the exhaust didnt blow )

what about making one of copper or thin soft alluminium ? if the flanges are nearly flat and the gasket soft enough it should seal a treat.

another option is to look at an industrial type of gasket, you should have no trouble finding one of 3" nominal bore.

Cheers Mike,  you have just given me an idea,   there is a truck place in harlow that services lorrys,  they have a parts dept.  They have helped me out with parts before, as everything on the car is huge and lorry parts usually do the trick!   Will try them tomorrow,  also just remembered that there is a John Deere tractor place in Dunmow which have sorted me parts before.   If none of these places can help then i will give up and the damn thing can blow, i will just get a louder stereo,  i cant hear it on the motorway as it is!!!  This thing is sooooooooooo loud!

i know leyland daf commercial dealers keep 3 inch exhaust gaskets in stock, thats where i get mine when i need them. i found all this out when i used to run a leyland daf recovery truck.

failing that, if you look in your local yellow pages there will surely be somebody who makes gaskets to order. i was stuck for one just before jae, and nobody had anything suitable, so i went to a place that makes gaskets and he did me 3 identical gaskets in 5 minutes for a quid!
