hi noticed a couple of weeks ago that there were a few spots of oil on the driveway, took it down to my local garage and they said that it was coming from my rear engine seal and it was an engine out job, well im due for a rebuild around now and will be getting this done in march 2006. the car is only used a couple of times a week and will be put away in 2 months for the winter and won\'t come out until rebuild time. what i really need to know is that is there anyway of doing a short term bodge/fix to stop the oil coming out that will last a couple of months any advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers peeps  :xconfused

p.s. just noticed it\'s now a little more than a few drips  :reallymad

Rear main oil seal can be changed by taking the gearbox off.
It is really a specialist job,but can be done by a proficient home mechanic.
There are 2 seals that have to be changed and the minor seal is the tricky one.
