Sounds like its not the engines at fault but some ancilary item fuel pump ecu etc. It can\'t be that likely that two engines would go the same way at similar milages more likley some common item to both engines

Sorry to hear of that, but what do you mean about putting your foot down after only 200 miles? Just wondering if it had to be run in more before doing that?
I am sure that Tim will help you out.

Fair enough,
Anyway it may be something quite trivial, get Tim to have alook at it.

Topline

Saw you sitting at the side of the A21 yesterday evening and thought how nice it was to see another RX7 owner with his car off the road!!!  Mine has been in and out of the paintshop/engine builders for the past year.

Don Pamponi

I deleted my anti rotary rant because I thought I\'d best investigate a little more before slagging off the new engine.

Well, the mystery continues.  Turned the key this morning and the bugger coughed for a bit then fired straight up!!!

Dont want to drive it though untill the problem is sourced.

Stupid expensive toy.

Oh and thanks Topline, glad someone witnessd my misery but it really doesn\'t help!

Its getting the car to Dorset thats the problem.  I dont feel inclined to pay another couple of hundred to transport it (again) after just spending £4K on a new lump.

Look on the bright side,at least it is not a major problem.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

Don

Sorry to hear about your problem with car.  I have a Series 1 Mark II and I have personal membership of the RAC.  Just means that WHATEVER car I\'m with, even if its not mine, they have to come out to it.  Covers me for my normal car also.  Must be worth getting, surely?  Tim will vouch that they have taken my car down to him at least 3 times in the past!  Think my membership was about £160 (onward travel, homestart, etc).  They usually take one look at it, see its an RX7 and ask where i want it taken!!

Don Pamponi

I have the RAC membership that covers me in whatever vehicle.  Had this broken down earlier in the day I probably would have taken it straight there - didn\'t know if I had to go with the car too!

Don

if you\'re with the RAC I know for a fact that (a) they will take you home, and if necessary, arrange for onward transport to a garage (I expect this is so long as taking you home is quite near on the first leg) and (b) you don\'t have to go with the vehicle (but you have to be there when they pick it up.)  If you call them now, say you were taken home but have to get the onward transport to Tim\'s, they should be able to sort that out.  They\'ve never queried with me that its a classic, or a 22 year old car, etc.

Good luck, sure Tim will put it right, but he can\'t if its not there!!

:)

Buddy

Sorry, should also have said that I have always made it quite clear when the RAC man comes out that if it has to get taken to a garage, it has to go to a specialist rotary engineer and they have never quibbled with that.

Best wishes,

Mary
