I\'ve always liked the reverse glow gauges but didn\'t think I could have them as my gauges have been converted from KPH to MPH , then I realised that if I installed a set of these and removed the converter the speedo should read correct , shouldn\'t it ?? but will my odometer ( or what ever you call it ) read in KPH again ??

How can I sort it ?? I know a few others have these gauges , do they have UK cars or is there a way to get the odometer to read MPH and the speedo to read KPH

have a look here

Sorry mate im a bit lost, gauges you\'ve linked to are in mph so no problem?

btw i\'ve got a set of these and there was no problem fitting, and look really cool at night :cool, get some apexi el gauges aswell for full effect :)

Tintin

The gauges I have at the mo are mazdaspeed ones and they read in KPH , however when the car was imported a converter chip was installed to make it read in MPH but on the KPH scale , this also made the odometer count in miles instead of kilometers

If I took the chip out , the speedo gauge would read in KPH again , which would work right because its the right scale to match these EL gauge covers , problem is the odometer would also be converted back to kilometers

But if you left the chip in the scale would be right for them gauges wouldnt it? speedo would have originally gone up to 180kph, but with chip converts that to 180mph.

Sorry if im not understanding what your saying properly, when my car got here it had the conversion done, and the kph sign on the speedo was replaced with an mph sign, i.e same scale but in mph now instead of kph. So the gauges were right when put on.

Im guessing if yours are different maybe something to do with the mazdaspeed gauges? on a different scale?

Tintin

Yeah for some reason mine now go up to 300 MPH  :eek

Blimey! Only way I can think of is to get the conversion reverted to what ever the normal way is, i.e up to 180mph then there will be no probs, but there might be an easier way than that........ i\'ll leave it for someone with a bit more tech know-how!
