Just been looking at putting another nose cone on my RX, but most of the ones i look at say you need the original support bar from the original bumper.
The nose cone i have on appears to be a bad replica of a reamiya one and  is held on with 3 bolts on each wing and about 6 along the top, there is no other parts holding it on, although where the main central hole is there are 3 tabs that stick inwards that are connected to nothing.

So what exactly is the support bar, and where could i get one from

The support bar, unless im mistaken is a expanded polystyrene molding (same stuff as  new tv is packed in) that sits behind the bumper itself at the top, it shouldnt be visible from the outside this sits on a fibreglass channel which i believe is the support bar, someone correct me if im wrong???

The three tabs in the middle opening are for connecting to a black plastic rail thingy (tech description  :D ) that is not necessary, at least it hasnt been necessary on mine since i broke it and then removed it. ;0)

What reamemyia bumper do you have?

Cheers

not sure which reameiya (spelling) it is meant to be, but the fit is so bloody poor it cant be original, its about half inch to long either side and the bonnet is about an inch and half away at the shut line, i have had it on and off trying to get a good fit but to no avail.
does not look to bad in this pic, but up close it is awful, and its been repaired that many times where its been whacked.
Its gotta be replaced cuz it lets the rest of the car down, and the rest is perfect.

Its an ad facer, you;ll never get a perfect fit with fibreglass I\'ve got a genuine RE-A widebody & the gaps are all over the place

you reckon its genuine then ? i was thinking of fitting a feedII instead, was gonna go cwest but everyone seems to have them at the moment and fancied summit different.
Either that or pull this one off again and set about it with a large tin of filler.

Donato

same one as mine and mine fits perfectly...?

You could elongate the mounting holes to the wings this would allow you to push the edges in slightly more. Fit will vary from car to car, I never seen fibreglass that didnt need a little feteling. you could try re aligning yr wings when to do bumper to get a better match??

i have moved the wings out at the ends and have got the outer edges to line up quite well.
The problem now is the gap between bonnet and nose, its huge, and with the outer edges where they should be its impossible to move it now to close the gap.
Only thing i can think of is to cut summit to fit the gap and then fibreglass it in with a skim of filler over the top.
The joys of owning an RX7 :)
