After seeing how much the intercooler pipes flex in and out under boost, thought about fitting some hard pipes. For a simple swap, plastic to metal, elephant want to sting us for a healthy 13% increase in premium! Rediculous really, the pipes do nothing, apart from possibly help stabilise the boost pressure. Hardly performance modification in the extreme, is it!! Grrrrrr.......:reallymad

Wasn\'t worth thelling them then LOL

AFAIK, you only need to tell them of performance mods and body mods, so something like hard pipes wont matter, would you ring them up and say you have replaced the brake pads for a racing compound type?

Elephant have been good to me but once my current policy runs out in 2months I\'m going to go with a decent company who give you a proper value of the car and know about mods.

Couldn\'t agree more! But better to be safe than sorry, so thought it better to ask first!
And yes, part of my arguement with them was along the lines of: it is an equivalent part just not the same make as the manufacturers - like tyres, you don\'t tell them everytime you change tyre brand/make etc! Or with any car, you get exhausts, dampers, tyres etc etc that aren\'t original!
But as ever, you try and be honest with them, but they give you a good kick in the nuts for it!
