the car boosts just fine - usually spikes to about .6 bar and then settles to .5 - which i think is right for an S5 TII

so according to what you say - it sounds like its not the Actuator , or a boost leakage

cant comment about the heat thing - as i never boot the car until its warm - but it does do it from cold - if you rev to say 3.5K - 4K then you can hear it

its sounding more and more to me like an exhaust thing to be honest - you cant hear it at fool turbo spool as you are hearing the turbo and watching the road more

not tooo keen on the upper inlet for the decat - mainly cause i have no idea what you are on about - and sounds like a sh1t load of work

there is no dump valve on the car - but thats another story ( still got the stock unit )

all the pipes look OK - from what i can see and the ones i can see

car runs and drives fine - on friday - it pulled fine from 20 - 100 thru the gears

it drives fine at vacuum - and the vibration - not 100% sure to be honest - as its vibrated pretty much since i got the car - and this is a brand new noise

if it is an exhaust leak - any idea how to check or whats the common culprite

LOL.

The Exhaust is easy, Jack the side of the car up so you can get under it (don\'t forget Axle stands) then making sure its out of gear kick it up.

Now you will need another set of hands for this bit, get a mate to hold a cloth over the end of the Exhaust pipes (Both at the same time) and then start at the Front (as it gets warm first) and cup hands around the pipe (so there is about 1/2" gap between your hands and the Exhaust) and move down the full lenth of the exhaust.

If it is Blowing you will feel it (even if its slight) as the guy covering the tail pipes will be causing extra presure to make a leak more ovious.

Don\'t forget the Exhaust/Exhaust gasses get hot quick so don\'t mess about, and this is easyer whilst the cars cold.

The hardest part of this exersise is the Down pipe to Turbo, This is a job to Defo be done cold as this gets VERY HOT!!! and to be quite honist if its the Down pipe you will here a farty noise if you rev it.

If you can here the leak whilst driving you can usaly get an idea of where abouts its coming from, So you start there.

This is one to do whith the engine off. Whilst the car is up in the Air get hold of the Prop shaft (the big one that goes from the Box to the Diff) grab it next to the Universal Joint (the funny looking flexi joint next to the diff) and see if it will move. It may move in and out (in line with the prop shaft) but it should not move up and down and left to right (if you know what i mean).

Then holding the Companion flange on the diff (the plate the Prop shaft bolts too on the Diff) and the other side of the Universal joint and twist them oposite directions then swap the directions (see if there is any play in the UJ) You should not be able to move it.

This is fairly common and is somthing to check whilst its up.

that plan at the mo is to take the car to the next meet ( a week on monday )

then when it comes home - get it up on ramps ( well the front )

this should allow me to have a nosey - gonna struggle with the prop shaft with the car at this angle though

You want a laff, i missed my Junction (21) and got off at 21a which goes onto the M56 so i ended up taking about aq 6-7 mile detour. LOL thats why i was late..

well i think i have fixed it - disconnected all the boost gauges and put it back to stock and it seems to have stopped
