I checked my oil yesterday, and needed to put some more in. Having taken the oil cap off, noticed the good ol\' mayonaise look in the cap and around the filler neck. Not a massive amount. Is this something to worry about - like the beginnings of water seal failure? i\'m gonna keep an eye on this over the next few journeys i make.

I wouldnt panic just yet. It\'s probably just condensation mixing with oil when your engine cools. Keep an eye on it and see if it gets any worse. My old S2 RX-7 used to do this and it went fine.

Cool, cheers.

Yeah, there wasn\'t much, and the car was fine. Also, there\'s been no reduction in water level, so I\'m not ready to panic quite yet! :p

Pretty normal to see some in the filler neck. I\'ve had this on both my old \'92 FD and my current \'02 FD. Thats not to say there isn\'t a problem, just that the emulsion can be quite common. As you say, don\'t panic yet!
