People say its not the best idea. I know that but i just want more power. But i can\'t turn back now its allready bought and ready to be put in.

Its a 1985 mrk 3 its my every day car. Had it for 7 months, touch wood its still going storng. i bought it with 24k and i just hit 36k the other day. So how long you all think

I have no idea what Mazda quote in the sales books but I reckon 1 1/4 tonnes won\'t be far off. If you are really interested public weighbridges don\'t charge much at all. Theres a couple round here ... might try the yellow pages or somthing ?

I keep meaning to take the rally car to see how much it weighs with the cage and sump guard.

I ound a usa site nd it says 2345 lbs - 1063 kg for a 1984 GS i think thats a 12a version.

take a look on ausrotary as I remember someone having one weighed not long back.

That weight looks like a dry weight to me ... add fuel oil water etc.

I put my series 1 on the scales and it was a touch under 1000kg.
But then it is a competition car and there is more to come off yet.
And the driver could do with losing a few kgs as well:rollin

I think my cage could also lose some weight

So striping will make a noticeable diffrence then ?

We have only scratched the surface with loss of carpets and all interior trim as well as sound deadening material. But that is also offset when the rollcage and race seats go back in.
We are going to get some grp panels made in the near future along with perspex windows and getting rid of all unneeded wiring.
