installation coming along? Give us updates on this thread or tell me bugger off cus you have more important things to do when on line, like look for porn.

Evening Evil Rotor-san.

Install is in limbo atm unfortunately; Geff has to get his car how he wants it for TOTB - and there\'s a small matter of G11ARY\'s car for TOTB too. Serious motor by Carl to go in and then a major ECU install etc etc etc etc. And his bro Chris is a cripple atm so cant do a lot!

I/We are taking plenty of pictures as things are done so I\'ll post them up some time, some where...

Plenty of work to go. Will be worth it the first time it starts though - whenever that may be! :-)

PS Whats the ETA on yours? Really looking forward to seeing that one - we should have some fun days at the strip one day soonish mate!

I have removed the heater on mine and some other bits and bobs, over the past few nites. The thing that is takinga while at the moment is the wiring loom. It is absolutely amazing complicated the wiring system is, there is so much. I have removed about 4 tescos carrier bags full!! There is loads of wiring for the heater and a/c. Whilst the looms are all stripped back, I willl be installing the new looms to control teh new ignition and fuel system.
I am not sure of whether to put some more sound deadening in the car, and make it quiter in there so you can actually here your self think. Or go the other way rip all the additional sound deadening out and weld the cage in with some other little touches and have it all sprayed up. If I go for this option, I will proberly have to where ear defenders at all times, which is pain in the arse. Not sure yet, just thinking out loud.

Love to do a shell-up build!

Thik I\'d go with an early rotor though; quite a thing for the RX2 and R100 at the mo :-)

Wiring - uggh, shudder etc. I hate electronics! I have a shit-wagon 205 gti and the \'leccy windows stopped working the other day - fully down abou2 hours before it started pissing down :-(

Fortunately I\'ve nicked other halfs motor for a couple of days but will have to get some one to fix it today for stupid money no doubt consdering the cars worth about 3p.

Can only imagine what the noise is like. Not exactly quiet with decent exhuast when fully trimmed!!

MAy be you should change the thread name to 3rotor and the beast :-)

Oi Evil rotor/ tasteless,
Less time surfing, a bit more time working !!
I may come down tomorrow to finish that engine and install
Rich you cannot imagine how loud it is on boost.

JD - you get any thing done to your own car yet since Castle Combe? Or are you still sorting Juniper\'s mess out? ;-)

You\'re right - I cant imagine how loud. W/G still venting to atmos btw? Must be like having a machine gun fired 3 inches from your head!

You\'re right about Junipers mess ;)
W/G is still to atmos, I don\'t think the 6 or 7 inch tailpipe help either
I have not touched my car, all it needs is a weekend mapping to finish.
I am being pressured about totb, i will take it up there and if someone has trouble with their car, I would\'nt mind using my car under there name, I will have to find out if this is ok.

More than likely that there will be cars on the list that dont make it. Speak to Max on FDUK about it (he\'s sorting out FDUK\'s entries with Chris Mann the organiser of TOTB) - he\'ll keep you posted about space...

Yours is running a GT35/40, yeah? Stock internals atm?

I\'ve got good news for you JD :)

There is a paid for slot available for you if you wish to take it, if not you, then we may throw a fairly stock car in the fray.

If you want it, please let me know, go to totb web site and fill out an application form and send it in first class to Chris Mann. Write on the form that you are taking my slot. Send cheque as well.

PS Don\'t blow up before the event, like the rest of us ;)

Max

I think the stock internals bits is more related to piston engines than rotarys. As the only main bit that gets changed are the seals, compared to a piston that get a hell of a lot more. ;)

Depdning on what your intentions are I rather disagree Mr Fish.

What do you call side housings that dont bare any resemblance internally to stock ones then? and uprated stationary and rotor gears? 3 piece eccentric shafts? and oil and coolant mods??

All very \'internal\' and important in a big power rotor.

You said \'There is a paid for slot available for you if you wish to take it\'.
 Then \'Send cheque as well\'.
I would like to do the event, would it be easier doing it under your name?
Yes Rich GT35/40, stock original motor.

That why I love these engines, use all stock parts, port it, check all tolerances slightly change clearances and torque settings and your good to go
ps I forgot about the oil and water passage way mods and eccentric shaft oil jets

maximtaylor

Worded to add confusion wasn\'t it!

I have paid, you can have my slot and either:

Pay back the fee direct to me, or..

send cheque to totb and I get refund from totb

There, thats better ;)

Rich post some pics of turbo, manifold, engine, your girlfriend, fuel bits, work in prgress etc.

20B_boy

Turbo - ok, exh manifold - tba, inlet - stock 20b to begin with, will take pics of both engines if there\'s room to get at them when I\'m there next, girlfriend - not sure the nuddy ones are for public consumption, fuel bits - all over the place, probably been chucked on some one elses car by now, WIP - bit boring, dirty 20B sat in the bay with not a lot going on, inside half stripped, PPF chopped in half, big billet ally plate that will form part of sump and to which the engine mounts will bolt is done and tapped. \'Bout it atm.
