Looks like my quest to find a FC wil be over tommorow! If all goes well, Im going to go and pick it up tommorow straight after my last exam at uni!

Its a completely standard TII in white! And next week, itll be heading off to the nurburging!

:D

Does anyone know of any specialists in the London area as the first thing i want to do is get it compression tested to make sure all is well!

Also where can i get the kit that knocks out the rear steering thingy?!

TIA

Dont suppose i can be nosy & ask how much u payed in end could i, i\'ll get me coat ;)

Had a call from Jitesh tonight, sounds like this car was a total dog and on its way out :(   Whats worse is that the guy is going to take it to Hurley (spit) for a diagnostic, if it passes Jitesh might buy it.

My advice is this, if its going wrong (and we\'re talking serious backfiring followed by an ECU failsafe/possible tip/compression issues) on the test drive, avoid! (Unless its up for £5)

Yeh ever so slightly despondent on my return :(

which is a shame becasue it had sounded rather prmising

Basically let it warm up then took it for a spin....initial blat was fine....

hwoever on the way back along a road, at approx 6700 rpm (read from gauge), the car lurched forward as though it had bounced off a limiter of some sort, there was a loud backfire and my mate who was following behind said he saw 2 one inch long flames from the exhaust. The engine then promptly stopped boosting and refused to go above 2000rpm. Oil pressure was registering fine as was water pressure (obviously no boost so boost gauge was not registering!) Got it back to the house which is when i phoned Brett (Thanks again!) Anyway the owner turned it back on again and decided to have another go.
so take 2:

Same procedure except this time built up revs slowly with time. Ran OK for a couple of go\'s but then it got slightly hesitant while pulling away. Switching it off and on seemed to make it go a bit better....

Not sure what to make of this. There was a receipt for a rebuild by WGT dev approx 25k miles ago, new turbo fitted 1k miles ago at which time it was serviced (no fuel filter was changed though  ) The car has also been off the road since January.....so it hasnt been run much and the fuel that was in there has been in there for some time.....

Can anyone offer any explanation?

Also Ive been told Hurley dont do diagnostics and Brett isnt the first to have told me a few things about Hurley........

However, it strikes me as odd seeing as its had a new turbo, recent-ish rebuild and theres loads of receipts for work carried out by the owner.....that there could be a seriously major problem.....then again i know nothing at all about rotaries!!!

Its hard when your heart it set in something isnt it!

TRex

Could be many things dude.....

Too late to think now.... but I would probably forget that one.
Having a Rebuild 25K ago or even 2K ago says squat!!!!

One overheat(as example) and it\'s all over.... So do not ever go by what work the car previously done, go by what it\'s doing NOW!

 good luck

Just for your information Brett the car is not a total dog!
I won\'t be taking it to Hurley because they are a bunch of tossers and are cowboys.
It\'s unfortunate that it started playing up and i apologise for Jitesh having a wasted journey.

I will sort the problem out, it is definately fuelling. Been advised this morning by mazda possible fuel pressure regulator, which is what i thought.

I will have the car fully rolling roaded and compression tested and after that it\'s up to Jitesh if he still wants it or not
