I am at the stage where I am welding more stuff back into the car than I am cutting out and it is a great thing!!!!!
Would love to spend a few hours checking this thing out MIke. Top stuff.
 cheers, michael.

Hey mike what were the polly bushes that you used for the engine mounts from??  i am re-doing mine and am up for new ideas. Would love to get rid of the factory fb engine mounts as they are a bit too big.
 cheers, michael.

MikeLMR

they are kit car and hot rod bushes from supeflex ... not sure if they work yet LoL should do as the bike engined kit car folks use similar ones as do grass track racers (where I got the idea from as my mate like his grass tracking)

Cheers for that mike, just bought some mx5 lower suspension bushes, look the same-ish but orange, for £14 on e-bay. I guess I will see when they turn up.
 cheers, michael.

cool, let me know how you get on with them.

Fair bit of progress this week on the 323, made and fitted the rear X-member and started to make the space frame transmission tunnel. It\'s looking a bit more car like now ! Scary. This is the first time we\'ve done the real heavy fab work so we are learning as we go !

The bank card got a good hammering earlier the week as well. Ordered a pair of Kirkey Pro street seats and a kit of parts for a 4 link rear end. yet again the time and money trade off went towards buying a kit of parts and modifying to suit ... we have scratch built most of the rest of the car so I suppose it\'s not too big a deal :) ... the geometry of the 4 link will still be down to our own design once we remake the chassis brackets etc. though.

Hoping to get a lot of the trans tunnel done tomorrow and maybe measure up for the start of the roll cage. Photos tomorrow ! It\'s not looking pretty at the moment ( it may never LoL but it should work ... eventually!)

Looking forward to the pics. Good work Mike. This will be a car to look out for in the future that for sure! :mmmm :Thumbs-up

travellinbob

So where are the photos??? huh....c\'mon...were waiting...:)

Dominic

Oooooooohhh, Kirkey seats... Its gonna look like a space ship. Pics pics pics.......

MikeLMR

Ok, some in progress shots. Dirty, unfettled, unfinished (its not pretty!) LoL I started to make some mountings for the rad today as well. It will look a bit better once we take the engine out and can sort the bulkhead side out and neaten up all the rough (very !) cuts

metal going back in though :)

travellinbob

ooooh look sgood mike! Nice work that. Yu and your mates really should go into buisness.
 cheers, michael.

MikeLMR

LoL we\'d have killed each other within a week of working together full time :)

Cut most of the front slam panel out the car now and scrapped the rad mounts I made last night. LoL it looks loads neater now :) (don\'t really hesitate cutting things out now ... in for a penny !)

You need to fit your starter motor.........gear lever comfortable ???????

MikeLMR

Starter was in when we made the tubes up, has been taken off again for access. Can be seen in the 7th photo sat on the floor :) ... thanks for the comments ... don\'t want to miss anything important.

The gear lever isn\'t too bad, will probably decide what combination of shorterning the housing and lever modifying will be done once the seats are in.

was thinking aloud................:Typing

MikeLMR

it will be interestig to see how well it sits ... have a few ideas if we need to move it right forward. ... my mate wants to fit the the TH400 out of his old jag LoL I told him I\'d need a couple of hundred more horsepower to justify that monster box !

Start to see a little bit of light at the end of tunnel now. Lots of remaking stuff to be done and arguing no doubt !
