same as above really>>wat does an airpump actually do,,im thinkin about removing mine so i can fit in a nice new shiny induction kit!! wat is it there for,and wat does it do??does it matter if i remove it on my fc3c? or does the car need to be remapped first?if anyone has got a diagram how to remove it i would really appreciate it....

cheers colin
So much BHP........and no where to gallop!!!!!

Brett

the air pump injects air into the exhaust gas stream causing the unburnt gases to reburn.  thusly lowering emissions.  If you have removed the dual flow exhaust down pipe etc and blocked off the inlet track into the inlet manifold.

thats a V simplified explanation btw.

take the bolts out :D

as explaind to me buy my tradesman an air pump only helps heat the cat up to the best opperatiing temperature we had an arnage in with a broken air pump and to get it past emmitios we just had to leave it runnign for a good 20 mins
when your life is a mess light one more ciggaret its so logical!

Brett

Except that 2nd gens dont really have much of a CAT, they work by reburning the exhaust gases in the exhuast manifold...
