The white smoke does die down and become faint, but really the cars not had a run for about 7 weeks because its just been shipped from japan. As for the engine, im loosing a tiny amount maybe a few drops a day? could this just be burning on the engine when its heating up? and i filled the center filler cap to the brim before starting her up..

When i got mine deflooded the smoke stopped from the exhaust after about 20 seconds. there was some condensation from the turbo but this cleared up when i took her out for a spin.

Just what happened to me. So may not be the same for you mate.

*Crying like a baby* umm is it wise to take her out for a short run to see if this helps matters? o did i mention i put unleaded petrol in lol! this would cause it to smoke wouldnt it guys? to rich mayber?

Im trying to delay the enevitable (too hard to spell lol)

Id take the advise of someone more knowledgable than me. I know how to deflood a car, but there ends the extent of my know how.

Most people on here reccomend shell optimax fuel as it has the highest octane rating. But i cant see why just putting normal 94 Ron would have such a quick effect. I dont think the fuel is the cause of the smoke.

Is the car running any modifications?? That may help us to understand what is happening?

Twin air filters and a stainless exhaust up to the middle of the car i think, cant see any more of it lol..a few hks pipes..

Thanks alot for all the help guys, this forum be the best thing iv found on the rx7`s :):rollin :wave

Might be a bit lean. Has it got a standard ECU, or a replacement??
Since the fuel in the country is at a lower RON rating than in Japan this may have had an effect? Possibly?

Pass on the ecu bud, well if it comes to it then i`ll do the rebuild myself i.e ma m8 a do it lol..

Hey where abouts you live Big Stu, i`ll buy u a pint or 5 lol

Ok, a few drops a day might not be much to worry about. It would really be pumping out of the expansion tank if it was an o-ring.

If the smoke has died down, then fine, lets hope!

The fuel is only really a problem when on full boost, so take it easy till you can get Optimax or Super. You could put in some octane booster for now if you are really worried about it.

Go for a short drive, up to normal temp I would say, then let it cool down, and check the water and let us know.

mate, I\'m gutted for you. I hope all this works out ok for you.

also as a quick note. If you overfill the coolant system, when you first start it up it will **** fluid out of the overflow tank, so don\'t get too freaked out just yet about rebuilds.

nice one oedipus, at least that may go to explain the fluid pumping out when it got started up??

Once you\'ve got things under control (i.e. not losing coolant out of the expansion tank) one test that will indicate pressurisation of the coolant system (i.e. feils water seals) is to run the car without the pressure cap on.  Do this from cold - if there\'s loads of bubbles coming up the neck then it\'d bad news.

Also, if you\'re topping the coolant up regularly (i.e. after each run) it\'s possible that you\'re losing coolant into the rotor and it\'s burning off on start-up.  You shouldn\'t get much white smoke on start-up - clouds of it indicates a problem.

You can also get the car\'s coolant system compression tested.  Di it without the bottom sparkplugs in each rotor - if the seal\'s gone then water will come out of the plughole.  This test might finish the motor off though.

I ran mine for 4+ months with worsening seals before I bit the bullet and had it rebuilt.  Eventually it wa regularly starting on 1 rotor and there was a large amount of smoke on start-up.  Power levels were still good though but I had to top up coolant continually.
