Hi Gents,

I’m about to start tuning my ’93 Type Rz, and as a rotary virgin I was wondering if you all could help me out with your experience!

The car currently runs a stock engine save for HKS mushroom filters and a GReddy Profec boost controller.

First off the boost controller is set to 0 bar.  If you could suggest a sensible starting boost I would appreciate it!

I also need to know which basic mods I should buy.  I take it an exhaust and anti-cat will be first?  Followed by a replacement or mapped ecu and fueling upgrade?

Not sure whether I should look at a single turbo ASAP, or to keep the twins?

As you can see I need a bit of help and I’m not sure on exact details but any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Many thanks

Starting boost, 0.8 bar should be fine.

Exhaust decat ecu and mapping is a good idea.

If you are thinking single turbo you might just want to go ahead and do it then you can do everything at the same time...

Thats up to you to decide though.

All the info is in this thread mate. Basically im speaking to the organisers just now and sorting out and MRC stand for the show.

If you are up for it please post on the thread maybe or definite and and your name to the list.

Its small at the moment but its slowly building. The more we can get there the better.

At the show themselves they are actually giving an rx7 3rd gen away as a prize.

Personally the first thing I would do is go buy a power FC and get it mapped. With a good map you will get a decent amount more power straight away and then you are also in a position to do anything else needed with out fear. I made the mistake of getting decatted before I bought the ecu and (fingers crossed) have got away with a couple of boost cuts at high revs. As soon as I fitted the FC iut was like a different car.

Cheers bud!

Any idea on where to purchase an FC, and likely cost???

I get the idea it will need setting up by a pro, however would it have to be a rotary specilaist? or could my local (well respected) tuner be able to fit and sort?

Cheers

your nearest tuner is Pip at WGT. I\'m sure everyone on here would agree with me when I say you won\'t regret getting it tuned by him.

You\'re looking at about £950 to buy anf tune one.
