Im getting my engine rebuilt in a couple of months & im planning on getting it street ported at the same time. Will it be ok on the standard ECU, ive got no other mods, still on factory exhaust & filter the only mod is a Knightsports FCD.
cheers

When I purchased mine it had been rebuilt and street ported plus had a KSP cat back system on the standard Ecu. The port and re-build was done by Pip so I guess he would have advised an Apexi Ecu if it needed it.

Since then I\'ve added an Apexi induction kit so an Apexi Ecu is getting fitted soon.

I bought my car two years ago it had been street ported and had Blitz induction and exhaust.

I was told at a service that due to the standard ecu it was running rich at low revs and lean at high revs.

I have just got back from geff\'s at Reworx havn had Apexi and Commander fitted - the difference is VERY noticable, like driving a different car, smoother and feels quicker.

So if it\'s in your budget I\'d reccomed having it fitted.

I\'m also told I should see a marked improvement in mpg :D

The power FC is the next mod on the list but after ive paid for the rebuild & porting it\'ll have to wait a couple of months. I dont use the car much its a second car, only does about 50miles a week! Ill be running the engine in for about 6 months!!

Speak to a tuner to get a good opinion.  Prior to getting mine rebuilt 12 months ago I asked the same question, the answer was pretty much the same, that due to the restrictive nature of the exhaust system running a ported motor on stock ECU shouldn\'t be a problem.
