Just got a new Cheeta speed trap detector thingee from Shy Auto.

Looks really cool.  Clips stealthily over rear veiw mirror.
Will test it & let you guys know how it works.

Hi Don,
I will be very interested in knowing the results of your testing too, especially mobile Gatso! bet you won\'t find one now! what is the mirror like? is it the same as or better/any different to standard mirror?I am thinking of getting one of them too,
Cheers Bob

Hiya,
had one of these things for over a year now, and can say they work pretty well with Gatso\'s.
Not much cop against mobile lasers - contrary to manufacturers claims. Last time I sent it back asking them to check out the laser function, they suggested getting a diffuser! Saying that though, customer support has been really good. The first one was slightly faulty, they said send it straight back & replaced it with another one.

The mirror I like - it has a anti glare coating so it\'s fine with headlights from the back. It also is wide angle so I can check out how cool I am looking without turning my head!
I hard wired mine in as they are illegal here in Ireland, so it\'s not so obvious. Just a little discreet switch under the dash with a positive supply from the cigar lighter.

Initial thoughts:

The wide angle mirror takes some getting used to (things appear further away than in the original mirror), but once you acclimatise it actually gives a much better rear veiw.  All  the blind spots dissappear.

Although I don\'t have anything to compare it too as I\'ve not owned a speed trap dectector before, I beleive that it works well.  Having the detector high up must be a better place for the sensors than on the dash.

So far so good.
