OK... read on before you reply with the usual "ignore the standard gauges because they\'re not acutate"....

I\'ve read the hundreds of posts from people claiming the standard gaues are no good. I\'ve read enough of these posts to realise that fact is very true.

However, suppose I was to go out and buy some after-market gauges so I can accurately measure oil pressure, what do I do if the pressure is low, and what kind of readings should I expect from decent after-market gauges?

The reason I\'m asking is because I am due to replace my knackered twin\'s. The current set of twin\'s I have are said to be non-repairable. When I spoke to the engineer at the turbo refurbishing place he said "you MUST have good oil pressure, otherwise you\'ll kill the new replacement turbo\'s within minutes". This I can believe.

What I\'m keen to do is diagnose a \'poor oil pressure\' problem before the new turbo\'s (when I get them) go in. Can this only be done with everything back together and new gauges fitted?

Any comments, advice, past experiences with oil pressure problems, would be nice to hear from you.

Cheers guys,

All the best,
Jon
