Its been done. Gary of Rotary Tarts has it on his black FD. I\'ll se if I can find a picture for you, if not im sure someone will have a pic of it.

There is an identical thread about these things going on elsewhere on the forum. These are NOTHING like what Gary has had done, his are air powered open and shut...

I just meant he has lambo opeing doors, and has had for a while.

It goes against almost everything that I like to do with cars......but, you know what. I probably would do it to a turbo II. I think that they are as attractive, if not more so than the fd, and because I tink that they are underated I think that those doors would be kinda fun to have.
 If that makes sence?
Havnt too much to comment on the type of conversion, quality etc. Mainly due to the fact i know nothing about them.
  Just a bit of fun.

i have seen these on ebay before i think they look really good! im sure you could easily incoperate hydraulic or air rams without to much difficulty the quality looks topps as well any one on here bought it?

jamie_eaton

i\'ve just bought a set last week, just waiting now ill put up a few posts how i get on!!

André

Would be great with some pictures!! Thinking about buying one too... How was it to mount them??

Eddie

Grat news,

I really fancied a set and even went as far as getting the guys number so I could speak to him.
I even started a thread on it myself.
The guy said he had sold a few sets and I was surprised it was not to anyone on the group.

How much did you get you set for Jamie
The Ebayer seller said he will drop it to 625 if more than one were bought at one time.
Interested to see how much your cost, cheaper or more expensive?

Cant wait to see how you get on, I can feel a group buy comming on if all goes well.

Cheers

Mr_7

yes sounds really good you could count me in for a group buy if the quality and fittment is spot on.

bobster

I have seen these on a Prelude.... was a real pain to get in and out of the car.

Might not be too bad on the FD, first of all the doors are alot lighter on the FD, you actually have to put a bit of effort into lifting the door up once they swing out. They don\'t swing out very far by the way.
The shape of the door on an FD may also make it a bit easier. I hit my head on the Prelude Doors a few times.
Gary\'s doors will be alot more vertical which will make it easier too.

Having said that the kits are normally very sturdy and easy to fit.
Mines Black and dirtier than Donatos. But hey, no-one asked for a good clean fight.

brooksie

they are using lots of these types of kits out in japan .... and bobster is correct  .. the doors don\'t open nearly as wide as you think and they are a bit of a pain to lift up. IMHO these kits could do with adapting so they have proper gas struts etc ...  I would be first in the queue for one of these kits if i could sort out a way of improving the "weight" of the door

the Scoot 4 rotor car has custom scissor doors with proper gas struts .. you can open and close the doors with one finger

I would be well interested in a group buy i am in the process of getting a quote on 5 sets of doors so i will post it up as soon as i can these kits are dedicated not universal, that is very important!!!  I tried to fit a set of universal ones and no way!  the company claims 2 door install in 5 hours, the kit is fully bolt on no welding required!

jamie_eaton

well i ended up paying £650 and we are going to ackle the job our selfs, My friend gurantees me he knows way of modyfying them so they lift all the way up. I totally trust him as i havnt seen anything he cant do yet!!.
Me being on a little short arse i dont reckon its gonna be a pain getting in and out, but maybe in the garage??? :D

Eddie
