I\'ve just bought the following :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7945766307&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:UK:6

I\'m going to remake the pipe from the stock twins to the intercooler so was wondering where the best place is to buy the standard samco hoses.

Does anybody know the dia of the pipe from the standard pipe on the stock twin. Just saves me having to take it to bits before i need to. Am i better off getting a effiny y pipe as well ?

I can get pipe made for the rest from work, but i may need to alter the pipe the the blow off valve, or make a fresh short peice. The intake side has all been made to match a standard pickup.

I know i need to move the rad and maybe make some fresh mounts. not sure how big a job this will be. Does anybody sell them as a mounting kit ?

I\'m i best upgrading my injectors before i fit it to garrentee not maxing my injectors out. It\'s currently only running at 7psi on stock twins (never changed pill over from rebuild !) and on full throttle pulling about 65% duty cycle.

So hopefully it\'ll keep air temps much lower and will help towards a big single in a couple of years.

Cheers

Hi Shaun
I found PCA motorsports very reasonable,
not samco but SFS pipes.
Give them a call they were very helpful
http://www.pcamotorsport.co.uk

The pipe diamiter on the stock twins,
well I have the stock intercooler and turbo\'s
and I have just bought a FEED hard pipe and the
internal diamiter bore size of the feed pipes is
63mm I am sure someone else will cofirm this for
you.

Buy the way if you are not going to use any of the
70mm pipe give me a shout I need some for a custom
job I am doing on the air filters.

Cheers

Cheers, I\'ll have a look.

I\'m trying my best no to hack the original piping on the turbo side so that i can use it later on with a big single as it was designed for :)

Trust make a full pipe set for this intercooler. The stock rad hoses will need to be modified in order to fit the rad in its new position. It currently sits on the anti roll bar and the rad slots into it, Bolts down at the top. You will also have to get an intake kit coz the old box wont fit no more.
The piping on the intake side of the turbo is 2.5 in and i think 70mm on the output side.

If you want any pics let me know coz mine is in bits at the mo and i can take any pics u need.

Clive at Shy sells hoses and can get them quicker than most. 2-3 weeks instead of the 8 week wait from most other places.

Cheers, i\'ll give him a ring this afternoon and see if he can give me a price for the pipe kit !

I\'ve got a hks induction kit fitted already, so the air box isn\'t a problem :)

How long did it take for you to get to that point in the photo ???

Looks like a big job, hopefully i should be ok. may end up fitting some samco coolant lines in so i don\'t butcher the original pipes.

It took about an hour 1 1/2. Im putting in a Trust FMIC as well + a few other bits and bobs. and removing some junk.
:)
Its easy to take apart. there is a defo sequence to taking apart and rebuilding it all.

Do you think i paid a good price for mine ???

I\'m going to have to email them and get them to double check the inlet size, they thought it was 70mm not 63 !

Cheers

Yeah seems a fair price to me mate. The intercooler inlet i would say is about 3 in usually. i get mine on monday so i can measure it for you then if you want.

Cheers, can\'t wait to get it done. Looks like there is so much more room and less clutter than the smic !

I\'ve just emailed rhdjapan and asked them to measure both of the spigots before they post it, so hopefully i\'ll get an answer. They seem to be a good company. I think alot of people get bits off them. Plus postage is v. quick !

Never used em or heard of them before. tend to stick to people i know ie clive and chewey.
This pic will give you an idea of how much you need to alter the pipes also a dog bone for good measure. :rollin
Good job i removed it that dog bone coulda got lodged in the flux capacitor or in the hyper drive lol:rollin

rhdjapan do a lot of second hand stuff on american ebay. Always alot of help and can get hold of some interesting stuff.

Looks like the rad is going to be a bigger job than the intercooler.

Cheers for the pics

I just noticed something. The left fan impellor has 5 blades where as the right one has 4. never noticed that before... any ideas
Scott:confused:

asp

doesnt the 2nd fan cums on at a higher temp, mayb some thing extra for coolin,,thinkin about it which fan cums on 1st 5 blade or the 4 blade?

sdminus

You may well be right. im gonna sound thick but i thought they both came on together and were two speeders

Phil was chatting about it on monday night at the jap car meet at mascarat. Its so that there is 3 levels of air flow through the rad. The small one kicks in first, then swaps over to the bigger fan and then both !
