Might be a bit of a stupid question...

My clutch is slipping and I\'m not mechanically minded enough to do the work myself.

Would a regular garage with a good reputation be ok or would you say Specialist all the way?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

mmm I think it depends on the clutch you have. If its something simple like a rebuild etc.. they should be fine but replacement parts (especially on an aftermarket one) would be hard for a normal place to come by... personally I\'d take it to a jap specialist :)

best of luck!

Its a standard clutch, would go for a nice drive but......

Within 25 miles it went from barely noticeable in 4th to happening constantly in anything above 1st and that was going really careful.

Worried about burning the clutch out

Sounds like it\'s burt out anyway mate....its about 4 hours labour time to change a clutch. Any decent garage should be able to do this. If you can find a garage thats done an FD before it would be advisable though...

Thanks Donato,

There is a garage nearby that have dealt with mazda rotary engines before and they are highly recommended.

Just make sure they know it\'s a "pull type" clutch.
cos otherwise they could try yanking out the box and break something. If they stare at you with a blank expression when you say this, walk away and find someone else, but they should be alright with it.
