Quote from: FishSo ok, Carls is almost ready for action and Glenns is only a year off (or close to it).

Here\'s the question, which will be faster? One built with UK knowledge or the power of the Aussie?

The thing is that both cars are built for entirely different purposes,Glen\'s is for track use and circuit racing and mine is for the strip.
Also I reckon that mine has probably cost about an 1/8th of the cost that  Glen\'s has so far,and his engine is not built yet!
Mine has been done on a very tight budget,if I could afford it the car would be heavily modifed by now and quick too.
The work on Glen\'s car would I think make it one of the most expensive FD\'s in the world,it really is a no expense spared project with not only the best parts being put on it but also the right parts too as can be seen from the pictures.
Looking very nice Glen.

Yeah, but u seriously think Butch wont take it down the strip just once? :3gears-lh

Don\'t you worry about that!  it will be going down the strip quite a bit, might do some drifting, circuit, maybe some top speed runs, 0-300km/h, groceries (well maybe not), etc. - it is my multi purpose vehicle  ;)  it has to be with all the money being spent!

It does suck though, when you put the good stuff into a car - it just costs soooo much.  But it is the way I want to do it, if it takes 1-2 years it will be pretty special when complete.

The next job of work will start to get things going a bit as they are pretty major bits to do with driveline, rollcage (supporting engine, gearbox, diff, etc.).  Custom driveshafts alone are going to set me back a pretty penny!

The holinger and 9inch will come in handy on the strip :)   will have to catch up with Carl though - he would have had a few years running on the strip before I get out there!
Thanks,

Efso

FD Annodised control arms..now thats something new!!! Congrats!!!

The important question is which one will be louder?

I\'ve been eyeing up my engine bay thinking there seems to be plenty of room in front of the turrets...

Glenn Butcher

Efso - Yep! they look really good, a lot of time involved in polishing etc.

Zack - mine can\'t be anywhere near as loud as Carl\'s, as I want to be able do run it on circuits etc.
Thanks,

Carl

I may make mine a bit quieter soon with a "Special" type of silencer!.

Some new pics. finally.

Driveline is virtually complete now, needs a bit of paint on fabricated bits, and some more parts to arrive.

Diff. centre is in with chromemoly supports in place, diff. oil cooler and pump.  Cockpit adjustable blade bars front and rear are also done, custom driveshafts are done (no pic. sorry), tailshaft is done.

Still a long way to go, but at least in the next few weeks it will steer & stop! with dummy engine in place, gearbox in place etc. :)

Thanks,

Carl

Quality. Glad to see the project is in full swing. I am literally just fitting that kit to my circuit car. Please keep the pics coming!

Excellent! Would like to see more pics as things progress.
