Can anyone tell me where i can get my 95 fd3s fixed in the aberdeen area other than Mazda dealer.

Ok where to start, the coolant light came on and then went off again, so i checked the water levels, needed a little top up, next day drove 8 miles and checked it again, levels dropped, started engine up without cap and noticed very small bubbles streaming up through the neck. Ok needs new water seals, phoned mazda and booked it in for friday 3 weeks ago, I live 30 miles from aberdeen so payed £110 pounds to have it delivered on the back of recovery truck. Mazda had the car for a over a week and still not even looked at it, I was told by a friend at work about another garage in aberdeen that could do the repair for half the price, Mazda wanted £1000 to strip the engine to examine the fault! so I fell out with the dealers as i felt like i was getting stuffed. Payed the recovery people another £40 to move it across town. This new garage was just a 2 man outfit but the guy seemed to know his stuff regarding rotary\'s, he said no problem i\'ll start it on monday, I end up going offshore on a job and thought fine when i get back it will be done, one week later i ring the guy only to hear I\'m sorry but the mechanic has injured his back and will be off work indefinatly, when can you come round to pick up the keys.......................U&^$**&(*&%*^%,$*&^.................aaaarggghhhhh!!!!!

I am now looking for a garage near aberdeen-peterhead area who can do the job, or else i\'m going to tackle it myself, i have the ebay cd-rom which seems straight forward enough. Given that i aint cooked the motor would i be right in saying i should get away with replacing the seals etc and rotors should be fine. the car has genuine 38000 miles on the clock also its an efini import.

Also who do you guys recommend for gasket sets etc, do i need to replace every one of them or can you get away with reusing the metal ones etc.

Any help right now would be greatly appreciated as this big dark rain cloud keeps following me everywhere, and I\'ve had enough!:reallymad

Hi mate.

Sorry to here of your troubles.....unfortunately there is no where in Scotland to undertake your engine work.

Your best bet is Pip at WGT, they seem to be the nearest to us, though it\'ll be a fair trek from Aberdeen. Over on the west coast we normally use \'The Garage\' in Wishaw, FD owners in the past have taken their car\'s there and Marc would strip them down, then the engine would be sent away....this was the arrangement with Carl, and i\'m sure Pip would do the same...i do know that there is one there, wailting to be stripped out and a look at the problem(s)..

..the garage are currently in the process of moving...here\'s their website, phone number is on there...

I\'m due up in Aberdeen for my residential week, towards the end of November.
