Engine Noise/vibration ?

Just taken the 7 out for a spin to check everything is OK and fuel up for tommorow and noticed a reoccurance of a worrying noise that I thought had disapeared.

Basically it sounds like a harsh vibration/noise that happens under load and between 4K-7K and apears to be engine related ... thing is it doesn\'t do it all the time !?

Currently I\'m thinking its the spark plugs letting me now its about time I changed them. They have probably been in for two years and 5K now, but I can\'t check that till I can order some new plugs on monday

 i\'m open to suggestions at the moment though as to what the noise is

I\'m also thinking it may be quite a serious problem ie. engine rebuild if its not ignition related.

Is anyone bringing a compression tester to the Pod ? I\'d like to get the low compression possibility checked out asap
