Apologies for the short forum outage yesterday and for an hour or so this morning.

Our forum host, UK2, moved our forum to a new server and something didn't quite work after the migration. It was quickly spotted and raised with UK2. They resolved the problem  very quickly and all seems to be OK.

If you spot any issues though, please report them here, so they can be checked and resolved.

Has anyone else had a problem with attaching files to posts? I'm getting an error:

"The attachments directory can not be located. Please notify an administrator of this problem."

I will raise this with our host, UK2, but would like to see if it's just me!

We are currently running v2.1.2 of the forum software. Once this attachment issue has been resolved, I plan to install two further forum updates, v2.1.3 and v2.1.4, to bring everything completely up to date. There are lots of bug fixes in those updates, plus an "improved" attachment interface (the current one is quite clunky). I hope these updates might solve the TapaTalk issue Jon, but don't hold your breath!

UK2 support have escalated the attachment issue to the senior engineering team and have also asked me to raise the problem with the SMF support community.

Who would have thought that "lifting and shifting" our entire forum from one server to another would cause such issues!

Please report here any other anomalies you spot, as I suspect there will be others.

Worst case scenario is I do a backup, nuke everything and reinstall the lot. A last resort measure though, as I'd be concerned we might end up worse off than now :(

Disaster - on checking, I have noticed that all photos and other attachments that have been uploaded onto the forum over the past 20 years are no longer showing in posts  ???

I have a recent backup of all those attachments, but no idea how to re-associate them with the correct posts.

This is clearly a side-effect of the UK2 site migration. I have raised this as an urgent issue (along with another one) with UK2 support.

Everything was running fine until the UK2 site migration last week  :(

Thanks to stewartm, who diagnosed and fixed this in a just a few hours, all is working as it should. 38,742 attachments are now visible on the forum again  :13:
