Bathurst 24hr (RX-7 racing)

Just got back from  a great time at Bathurst (3 hours west of Sydney) where I helped the Pro-duct RX-7 team in the 24hr enduro race.

Staged for the 1st time, it went well, except for the staged win by a Holden Monaro. The RX-7 under production car rules got as high as 5th outright against the full blown race cars before a blown 2nd turbo forced an engine change & a loss of 3 hours in the pits.

Racing through to the end of the 24hrs, it managed 23rd outright & a respectable finish.

Had the turbo problems not arised, the car could have claimed 2nd or 3rd we suspect.

If only.!!!!

Awesome Dave - did you get any pics. at all?  Great to hear the Mazda\'s doing well on the mountain again.  Can\'t wait for the RX-8 to come along with the backing of Mazda!
