colt gti gearbox query....bell house swapping....

Managed to get a gearbox for my ca Colt gti 1993 ....( using online info satria gearboxes fit as essentially colts rebadged as proton satrias)...
so ive got the right gearbox and my old gearbox is out and on the garage floor.....however....replacement is cable operated and i need slave cylinder operated....the bell housing casting is different in the this 1 area alone....
so question...can i swap bell housing? i can strip duff box as dead anyway but if i pull bell housing off im not gonna gears and shafts falling out everywhere?

my car is 1 of 11 left so all though worthless i wanna save it and she goes well and this is actually her first breakdown as me as owner and in fact apart from the racket and lack of reverse gear still drives....
stripped plenty of gearboxes at work over the years just not a car gearbox...ratios are identical box is identical in every way except cable versus slave....

so for those that have stripped a car gearbox...do i now just prise apart or undue the bolts etc and pull the selector out and other bolts that are bolted into casing?

this is the old box so mistakes can be made on this but ideally dont want something to fall off inside...

any help insight greatly appreciated....colt.org forum said all parts interchangeable .....

Tried to modifiy...just broke through casing into selector area...opps. just very slightly different casing but different none the less...
