gearbox oil question

Can anyone let me know if an MP 80w gear oil will be okay for a relatively temporary gearbox top up. It's on an fd3 and I think I must of bought this for it ages ago but checking today the specs say a 75/90w oil. The box leaks like a sieve so I need to keep it topped up until I pull it out to overhaul and seal it back up properly. Will see a trip to the dyno but I doubt it will see anymore miles after that before I strip it.
