hi guys my m8`s T2 is running 1.1 bar according to his boost gauge & feels it !  but apart from a racing beat rev t2 turbo back exhaust system  & induction kit, everything else is stock  inter cooler, turbo & ecu as ive already checked in pass footwell  the only other conclusion is its got a piggyback ecu?

So the quick answers:

Mapped - not easily

Chipped - yes and there are some out there - most normally have a helpful sticker from the company that chipped it (such as Blitz, HKS, etc), but some folks have copied ROMS and replaced there own - if you are happy to undo the lid on the ecu and the 6 screws holding the top board in place, you can carefully flip the board over and look at the ROM chip and see if it\'s socketed or looks resoldered - the stock ECU chips are ROM not eprom chips and have no socket.

As for piggy back ECU - that should be pretty easy to spot as it\'s a lot of extra wiring.

One thing to note - the stock ECU had maps for boost going to 1 BAR, but has a boost cut mechanism that came in at about 0.6 BAR boos (roughly 8.6-8.8 PSI boost).  If you are getting to 1.1 BAR then it would suggest a chipped ECU, but I would be worried about fuelling if the you are still running stock injectors, fuel pump and fuel pump wiring.

I noticed that the chipped ecu that I was using came without a lid and you screwed the one off the stock ecu and you can\'t tell that it\'s been done and the fuel cut was sorted by the new ecu, but I never got more than. 9 bar

thanks for ur reply guys,  apparently it was modified by hurley motors but  is a bit jerky between 800 - 2k then pulls like a train & much harder than my T2 when i first fitted a 80mm straight through exhaust , induction kit & fcd @ 11psi  & made 238 @ the fly
