Quote from: Grant Monkhouse;879249Li8m defo doesn\'t need a large frame turbo for his needs, that we can agree on:D even a mid frame turbo could be too much, I would honestly take a turbo that a bit small (cheaper) and have better spread of power rather than a drag monster for the street. Even of the turbo peaked at 5500-6000 rpm doesn\'t mean it won\'t still make power when you rev it too 8000 rpm?

Having a larger turbine housing would benefit the peak number but a smaller turbo would come in much quicker?correct if using a smaller comp housing and the turbine wheel is matched to the comp wheel

Also worth saying that a billet wheel maybe not needed unless you are going to be running the turbo at full tilt/potential unless of course the price is the same??would agree  but eventually all comp wheels will be billet......they are my preferred choice anyway...... Why not!

It\'s really about balancing the comp wheel with the turbine wheel.... ( what goes in must come out right! ) No point having a tiny comp wheel with a massive turbine wheel as turbine wheel will in essence out flow what is being ingested by the comp wheel.... Well that\'s more of the basic theory for pistons but for rotaries it\'s different. We can deal with it because of the strength of our exhaust pulses.  But the comp wheel would still be a limiting factor .

I would be happy to help spec a turbo for him.... I just need to know his setup and what he wants from the car really.

Appreciate the info guys.
Slowly researching during my down time (which is not much time)

Spec of car:
rebuilt engine, stock ports
550 cc pri, 1680 sec injectors
v mount rad/ ic
greddy comp tube kp secondary rail
bosch 044
3" downpipe back
AP Eng PFC
Boost controller

i\'ve heard of stock t2 block producing 800bhp so think can take a big turbo but i dont need silly figures like that lol

I had a t04e similar spec tub with think 1.15 ar hotside made 374bhp at fly.
thinking maybe something bit bigger but with smaller turbine ar will produce bit more poke and spool quicker?
