The rx has been sitting for a while (quite a few months) waiting until all that nasty salt has disappeared.
Anyhoo...she started first time, purring lovely. All good I thought until I pressed the clutch pedal... it went right to the floor!

This has happened before, again, after a long time being idle. I bled the system and all is well again.:Thumbs-up

My question is, why would this happen? There are no leaks. Maybe time to replace the master, slave and the tatty feed pipe?? Want to replace the feed pipe anyway due to my 929 brake master cyl upgrade.:D

Brake fluid is hygroscopic which means it attracts water, so it\'s possible that where the car has stood moisture had got in the line giving the symptom you had.

The brake fluid turns black when it\'s contaminated with moisture and the fact that all is now well, with the system flushed hopefully this was all it was.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Clive,

Certainly it was very hard to bleed, the fluid was clear though.. probably best to flush the whole system through, well will have to, when I change the brake master.

Is there a place I can get a new/upgraded feed pipe?

Mr Froggy

When the fluid is contaminated what happens if it\'s not changed.
