Hi guys and girls,

I\'m Mike, i live in Solihull, West Midlands and i\'m just about to buy my first my very first rotary :)

Me and my Dad are both car enthusiasts and i haven\'t had a car now for a couple years as i work from home and tbh don\'t really \'need\' one, this car is all about what i want though and not what i need haha

So i\'m buying this little beauty (currently owned by my Dad so i\'m getting it suppppeerrrrrr cheap :D) :

A 93\' FD Rx7, like i said it will be my first rotary, I\'ve owned a Toyota Glanza before which was quite heavily modified and also a Supra for about 18 months so this is something totally different for me.

I\'ve always loved the appearance of the FD i think they\'re beautiful to look at, id really appreciate some links to read through to basic tuning on these engines if someone could post some links for me that would be great. I\'ve had a look around before posting this in what i thought would be the most obvious places but i can\'t seem to find what i\'m after.

I\'d just like some information on what parts are needed to reach a nice safe tune with the car sitting around 350 - 400hp. Obviously reliability is key as i know that if u don\'t look after the engines on these things they can be quite fragile.

I\'ll get more pics up when I\'ve picked up the car from my Dad :)

welcome to the world of the rotary :)

Solihull too

There\'s a Sunday morning meet at a pub near Coughton Court

I\'ll dig the next date out and weather permitting will be going
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Hey colum, funny u say v8 as my Dad bought the car with the intention of a v8 engine as he spoke to some guy in Tysley? i think, but then he found out it was going to cost too much money and bought an NSX instead lol

EDIT: Are u colum Chadwick by any chance :?

Thanks John that\'d be great, would like to get to know some other owners locally, though i haven\'t bought mine yet hopefully i will have done soon :)

Quotesome guy in Tysley

That would be Craig - you\'ll hear nothing but prise for his work, top man.

As for costs I think you get what you pay for.

350-400hp is the upper limit for the standard twin turbos, it\'s a matter of preference whether to keep them or go single.

Cooling is probably the biggest issue,  plus don\'t let it run lean.

Alright sounds good, do you know of any websites i can read through or links to threads on here that will give some information on building a 350hp or 400hp rotary? Have been looking but have found a limited amount of information :( I thought this would be somewhat of a hot topic.

Sadly I don\'t think there is a good standard reference I can point you to.  Part of the problem is that people disagree about what is needed for a given power.

For 350hp I reckon:
Cooling - v-mount intercooler and upgraded rad.
This will probably require air intake and battery relocation.
Apexi PFC and mapping.
Exhaust with sports or no cat.
Injectors.

Then you get into the little things like do you re wire or upgrade the fuel pump, ignition, etc where opinions differ.

Also some people would prefer a single turbo for those power levels, again personal preference.

Best thing is to go.d a tuner you feel you can trust and talk it through with them.
