This is sort of part of the start of my RX8 project but at the same time it\'s not if you see what I mean.  Since I am probably going to be towing the RX8 around a fair bit to save fuel, I\'ve gone and bought a tow car.

For £1500 of your Pounds sterling I\'ve bought a Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8TD LWB Auto.  It was built in 1994, imported to the UK in 2002, has a little over 118k kms on the clock and it\'s in pretty good nick, not much smoke, needs a service but it has been well looked after.  The principle reason I bought it is its 3.5 tonne towing capacity but the missus has taken a shine to it and is currently using it to go to and from her horse-riding lessons.  Should be fun!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Sweet..I had a 2.8td Swb in red with flared arches ....loved it ...had a lift kit fitted was awesome in the snow.   When you service it put some wd40 down the vac lines for the 4wd solenoids stops them sticking so now flashy dash lights and on normal roads use 2wd saves loads of fuel.

Also when you service make sure the rubber o ring comes away with oil filter..they have a habit of them sticking ....to the housing....makes a mess when you fire up and blows out!

Cheers for that, I\'d already found out about the 4wd solenoids and they\'re shifting nicely.  I\'ll keep an eye on the oil filter O ring.  I just removed the EGR valve on this one too, it had a blanking plate already fitted but the vacuum control was still on there and under part throttle it was leaking exhaust gases pre-turbo.  I removed the valve and blanked the holes and the vacuum control line and now it feels a bit more lively, more MPG would be nice too.  Just need to get the A/C regassed now.
