Differences In Engine Blocks?

What if any differences are there in a bare block from say a 1992 to 2002?  Can\'t seem to find a definitive answer.

I think the later engines, with 280bhp, had slightly larger intake ports. Or was it more boost?? Not sure TBH.

I have a 99 spec paper parts book and many years ago I remember looking up the differences between the engines as there was a myth that the Apex seals and springs were different,

I could not find any differences in the block, only the ancillaries such as Turbo\'s etc being different

Thanks Clive. I had heard the \'myths\' myself, but as you state there appears to be no substance to it.
