DO\'H flooded FB

Hi guys

Just went to move my FB however I think its flooded, I made the rookie error of moving it up the drive and shutting it down!

I Know the deflood procedure for cars with the EGI cut off but this being carb\'d it wont have it.. I assume its spark plugs out, crank( no throttle), clear the floded fuel leave for an hour to let fuel evaporate, some oil in(5ml or so), crank( no throttle), clean and heat the plugs, pop them in and start as normal with choke or no choke and at no other time touch the throttle??

Yes plugs out etc, if you want to stop the fuel pump you can lift the rear seats and disconnect the pump

Exactly so.......not sure about the oil in though. Don\'t see that helping if flooded. Another simple solution is to get some aerostat spray, unclip the air intake, blast some spray down the carb for a few seconds, fix the intake back and try again.
They are a bit sensitive to being moved I must admit.

just dont leave it flooded for any length of time as it will destroy the seals

Cheers for the help so far guys im going to sort it out tomorrow,  the weathers been a bit mental to be working on the car over the last few days.

So,  is it best to go through the official De flooding procedure or use a can of ezstart stuff??

Use the aerostart first. If it works it will save work now and you know what to do in future.

Plus it will possibly have dried itself out to a large extent already since you\'ve left it alone.

The only occasions I have to use the aerostart is if our car has stood for say 3/4 weeks in winter. Then I give it a squirt before starting and it always catches 1st spin.
That saves the battery and starter cranking away in the cold.

I\'ll get myself a can for the boot along with the oil and tools took a half hour today and got it going happy to be back on the road
