thread revive, as its early, I havent been to bed and I\'m bored at work still...

trying, but not succeeding.

The problem with the tunnels runs is that it all gets a bit samey. Yes, I know, putting down the tunnel runs I\'m supposed to big up!? They are still the best legal car event you can do on public roads. My problem is that you still have to obey the speed limits.

Ok, so what are the alternatives?

Track days... too expensive
streeto/hooning around the local empty carpark... dangerous/illegal/crash.
R/DWYB... again, samey, gets boring doing the same thing over and over.

Tbh i used to drive like a idiot on the roads in my 20\'s and racked up a few points along the way....then i got into track days .....some 15 years ago and found it hugely gratifying and exhilarating.......also i found the next day and so forth that i was quite happy to poodle along to work as i had nothing to prove and all that pent up driving aggressive had gone....i\'m still the same now.......and all the young guys i know who are petrol heads i actively encourage them to get on an airfield for some controlled blasts.....

£99.00 for an airfield track day open pit all day is a bargain circa 60 quid of fuel 1 a month and the the roads are a safer place.......

I didnt like the ad i thought it was weird... the driver was shown as aggressive reckless....fair better to show him leaving work moody.....seeing his new gt86 and a smile  appearing on his face.....his demeanor relaxing ....turning the key .....the exhaust note rasp......and end of ad and the rest left to your imagination...

Image is what there selling.....the ad was wrong .....every Gt86 driver an aggressive idiot...reckless and just about to try to overtake you before the next bend.....

My father in law has always had Supras ...4 in a row and he was excited about the gt 86.... he is no petrol head he drives at 45mph...everywhere....but down the pub he has a Supra....image. Just my 2 pennies worth...

EAT SLEEP ROTOR REPEAT.

It\'s a bit sad really.  Driving fast is exciting, that\'s why people do, it cuts into an old part of the human physiology.  The bit that exists because being the fastest meant you didn\'t get eaten by the big-toothed predator that was chasing you.  We\'re hard-wired to enjoy it, particularly males and to deny that is to deny what made us human.  If you can\'t market a fast (well nippy in the case of the GT86) car on the basis of it being fast then what\'s the point?

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!
