Anyone had or driven one of these? Thinking about getting one plus i miss the twinturbo sensation.

I haven\'t.

However I\'m not quite sure what you mean by the \'twinturbo sensation\'.  If you mean the power spread of an FD, with early power and then a further kick at 4500rpm, then I don\'t think the Audi will give you that.

The FD has a complex sequential twin turbo setup.  Although both turbos are the same size, one of them is blanked off below 4,500 rpm, thus ensuring that the other one gets all the exhaust and so can make power low down.  Then at 4,500 rpm the second turbo is brought into play, giving the distinctive kick and the ability to keep pulling through to the buzzer.

The vast majority of \'twin turbo\' cars, however, simply have two small turbos running at all times.  The Audi just has one on each side of the V6 engine, so each one does three cylinders.  This can\'t give the broad spread of power or the characteristic midrange transition that a sequential setup does.

According to wikipedia, the 959, Supra, Cosmo, and various Legacies use sequential twin-turbos.  (Bill Gates owned both a 959 and an FD, so he must also have liked sequential turbos ;) ).  So if you want the sequential kick in a wagon, a Legacy would seem to be your only option.

I reckon the Pistonheads forums probably have some info from people with Audi experience.

Quite a good car. Acceleration seems slow when you drive it. But it goes fast, 4wd and good torque makes it feel slow. No turbo kick, puls nicely from low. But DO NOT get automatic gearbox(tiptronic) version. They are crap...
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.
