Tony - you want me to ask around and get a laptop cable?  I\'m assuming that is what you need?

.ps I\'m in Oz - could have it to you in a couple of days if required.
Thanks,

How are you trying to connect the ecu to your laptops Tony? are you plugging directly into a com port, or are u trying to use a USB port with a converter?

We tried with my laptop that hasnt got a 9 pin com port, so i bought a com/usb converter (£50), that didnt work, got a 25 pin/ 9 pin converter which the help menu says to use, didnt work, got a brand new stand alone desk top with com ports and an IT whizz, still no connection,  I\'m using the Dongle from Tim, the only thing that is left is to buy a new com lead which i will try tonight.
Arghhhhh, carbs are so much easier!

Nice! I had problems connecting my Vaio (no com port) to the LTX12 in the FC initially. Bought a USB-serial converter for about £20 and  installed it - still no connection. The converter had defaulted to Com 4 or 5 and MTs will only connect on com1 or 2. Changed setting in devices to com 2 and hey presto - connects to vaio via usb-serial converter no probs. I\'m sure I\'ve read that MT\'s dont like running via converters but I cant say I\'ve had /noticed any problems tho...

Any ways, the FC (\'20B abortion\' as she will be known from now :)) has a lead/dongle in it that you can try if you like - or send ecu to geff and he can check it...

Good luck, fecking computers!

Thanks for the offer Rich, I was going to send it to Geff and see if it will connect for him.  At least then we will know if its our computer of the microtech.
