We have been approached by Julian on behalf of the Patrick Foundation, for which he is the Chairman.

The Patrick Foundation is a charitable trust who won the vehicles with the Patrick Collection â€" also more commonly known as the Patrick Motor Museum.  The Museum operated as a major public attraction in the Midlands throughout the eighties and much of the nineties.  Since being scaled down, a small collection of cars has remained, with these being displayed in a more private setting.

Unfortunately, as you may of seen in the press recently, we have decided to sell the vast majority of the collection so the funds can be used for educational purposes in conjunction with a much larger established museum, also within the Midlands.  This decision has led to a number of cars being entrusted to Bonhams to sell at auction, however we have retained a small number with a view to disposing of ourselves, in a more sympathetic manner.

One such vehicle is our 1983 Mazda RX-7 2 door, finished in light metallic blue.  The car has only one owner â€" PMG Investments Ltd â€" and at the last MOT had covered a mere 4,060 miles from new.  The car, as the mileage would indicate, is in excellent condition, and has probably never been driven in the rain, and has been kept in heated storage.  We don’t believe it would be possible to find another such low mileage original RX-7, unless you approached Mazda directly!

We feel it is such a gem, that it should really be purchased by someone who has a passion for Mazda\'s and therefore we felt it only right to approach yourselves to make you, and your members, aware of its presence, and the opportunity to potentially purchase the vehicle direct from ourselves.  We feel a figure around the £10,000 mark would secure the vehicle.  We will at some future date be making this, and a number of the other vehicles not being sold by Bonhams, available for general public sale, so please do advise if this vehicle is of interest as soon as possible.

No doubt we will have the original sales invoice and various bits of information available to go with the vehicle.  Having looked at it today, I can see it is not perfect, and would require careful recommissioning before being taken out, but that would be the case for any museum piece.  We may well keep the private registration, but would be open to offers on it.

Also, please note the chassis number as requested : JMZFB131200663798

If any one is genuinely interested in this car, please contact Julian direct  jp@pmg-i.com, please not time wasters.

Lisa, how come these people that make contact with you outside of the club (and therefore contribute nothing to the forum) get their ads stickied? It just seems a bit unfair to your paying members who don\'t get such publicity?

Brett

I\'ll have a go at answering :)

Anyone can come to us, member or otherwise if they have something interesting they wish to sell or share.

Looks like the money from this is going back into the charity, so it\'s a positive thing.

Other similar cases to this are usually bereavement sales.

Plus you\'d want to know this went to a good home and would be looked after...

Such a nasty, argumentative comment against such an innocent remark was really was not called for, especially as you have copied and pasted all this onto your own personal forum anyway.

I actually have no problem with this if it means this special car then goes to a Rotary owner rather that a non descript collector.

However I do feel that Dave (Prof) could do with an apology because anyone who knows Dave would know that his post would have been put up without an ounce of malice or innuendo.

Ian hopefully you will now PM Dave and address this unwarranted remark.
All the best Clive
