car went in for mot today

hi all, car went for mot this morning and pass. ? is,it will sit there and idle ok but as soon as i go to rev it hard it cuts out on me and will not start again unlesss i leave it for a while. did notice they was quite a bit off oil in the uim when i removed it weekend and the the after burner on the back off it is clicking, could that cause it to cut out.  or could i have the thermo coupling spring in wrong.

got both spring together in book but sure 1 was at the front and one at back of it when i rebuilt the engine  would this be putting to much oil to the uim if its in wrong.
last thing has any body got a pic off the oil breather the comes from the uim to the oil filler neck to make sure ive got that the right way round. thanks

As you have just put the engine back together it may well be that the engine needs to run in and make better compression before the problems you describe disappear.

thanks clive ill keep running it around and see what happens, only weeks to rotor stock 9 so would be nice to make it again this year in the rex
