I believe that its the Ford 2 litre diesel lump found in the newer shape Volvo S40, I specifically avoided that engine due to the massive issues it had especially around the DPFs failing and meaning a repair bill of about a grand. I think you can run something through it to clean it out (much like cataclean) I know some of the older Saabs had issues with them as they didn\'t map them correctly at the factory. I am guessing the car does short journeys?

Issues is stated here:

It will take out the engine if not sorted soon.

Thanks mate,
I done the cambelt and full service today car at 78000, car came in with DPF flashing and hooked to snap on solus but would not reset DPF, it seems to have gone past regen and i took for a good hard blast to see if would regenerate but nothin...car is flat and has no turbo response atall.  I spoke to my motor factors and they gave me a flyer for a remap without DPF? Bout £500.00 ? but unsure if should advise...thinking send to mazda ?

Trying to save owner money but i really don\'t want to end up costing them more! .....oil level is spot on and was the bloody expensive c1 longlife.....
Looks to be a lemon car by what i have read.....:Hammer

I had a VW T5 with this issue, got it removed then re-map it out. It\'s around £200 and well worth it!

Why hasnt it done its own reburn cycle?  Has it run out of fluid?
