So AVB is gone. I just dont get it any more, there was a lot of talk at his signing that he was a long term option and immediate results werent expected, he was there to build a team for the future etc

I guess we will never know his terms and conditions but its getting beyond a joke imho, any serious manager will be unlikely to want to get involved soon for fear of not meeting expectations, so the only reason they might go there is for a  serious sum of cash and not be too bothered if they get the boot or not!

If Roman wants to pick his team, why doesnt he just manage it and have a coach, not manager?? Or was Jose visit to the Uk last week something to do with it??

Anyway, they are poor this year, but hardly surprising imho, their squad has seriously gone downhill.

No manager in their right mind would want that job now unless its written in their contract that they have full control over the team with no meddling from Roman. I feel sorry for AVB really he didn\'t stand a chance by the look of it.

I think its daft, how can you revamp an ageing squad with 2 signings and no pacients? Ambramovic has pulled the plug to early on this one IMO, I think there is a slim chance he wants mourinho back next season, you know with him leaving Madrid. I could be wrong but it\'s convenient and he\'s covered it by sacking AVB mid season.

If this isn\'t the case then Chelsea are the new Real Madrid.

Personally i think the Chelsea squad compared to a little over a year ago is shocking! You had two of the best strikers in the game, Drogba and Anelka scoring goals for fun, with Sturridge and Kalu (dont rate him too much) chipping in when necessary, and you sack of one of your best and annoy the other one for Tores? Get ride of Kalu perhaps, but surely  they needed to keep their top two on board!

I get the whole, Tores needs a goal or two, but how long do you persist when he isnt getting that goal or 2??

Bosingwa is hopeless and so is Mekel, whilst i like Luiz he needs Terry or similar to reign him in.

So where now, huge money will need to be spent and a proper clear out imho!
