My interior lights on my dashboard keep dying on me, they illuminate again with a little push on the bottom of the dash surround next to the switch but it\'s annoying, anyone know if it\'s a losing battle with the soldering in the switch itself or just a loose wire?

Would it be worth sourcing a new/used switch or just taking it apart and try to rectify the fault?

Mine do this too sometimes. A quick bang on the dash normally sorts it out for me :)

Ah, the old kick it and fix it :rollin

Did you hear about the man who got stopped for a rear light that didn\'t work.

He kicked it and it came on, so the policeman said now go and kick the window screen and see if your tax disc comes up :D

I used to give it a love tap, but it seems to of exacerbated the problem

Its all about where you hit it though. Unfortunately its never in the same place twice!

hmm... nevertheless, i\'m not that kinky with my car so keep spanking it, so would just replacing the switch be the better idea?

I would have thought taking the switch components out and cleaning the contacts would be a good start. If yours is the same as mine its kinda like the contacts are dirty cause the problem only happens sometimes not all the time.

My gearbox switch (for the reverse and the 5th gear notification for the ECU) has messed up, it blows the fuse for the whole cluster if I go into 5th, a dodgy light is the least of my issues lol
