Hello again all :)

It\'s question time from me again...

I\'m going to have to do some work on the car again to get it ready for it\'s MOT (hopefully will be on the road properly for the first time in YEARS)

Since I have to do some work, I was going to install one of the 2 stroke adapters from rotary aviation...

Before I go ordering the wrong thing, please could someone tell me if I need to order the mechanical adapter or the electrical adapter for my S5 Turbo II Cab

I believe it\'s the electrical one I need, but I would like to double check and I don\'t have any money to waste ordering the wrong thing.

Thanks in advance :)

They are all mechanical, but I think the adapator naming refers to the OMP they work with - so yes the electrical one.

Pete Taylor\'s car which Kev now owns, and I have both fitted and run this adaptor - in the pic on their website it\'s the 2nd from the right :

So that is 13B - ELECTR

There are 2 issues you might have when fitting this:

1)  It\'s brings the OMP stepper motor quite close to the lower radiator hose on the front of the engine - it\'s a tight fit.

2)  The stock oil drain for the turbo will be in the way - so you will need to use a custom solution with braided hose or do a bit of welding.

Thanks for that prof :)

I have now ordered it, hopefully it\'ll arrive sometime soon :)

I would expect there to be some issues with fitting (nothing it ever easy is it? ;))
I\'ll probably come up with some custom solution for the oil drain as I\'m going to have to do a bit of welding anyway (small sill repair) so I\'ll see what I can manage to do with it

My hybrid turbo still fits in the stock location, I managed to find some TO4 flanges which were 1/2" NPT thread hole in the centre, and then a couple of adaptors to take them to AN10 - a bit of hose with AN10 straight on the front cover, and AN10 60 degree on the bottom of the turbo worked wonders - It also means it\'s a little easier to disconnect the oil drain in the future if you ever needed to.

I did find some flanges that go straight to AN10, but these don\'t bring the adaptor far enough down to clear the compressor housing (well not mine which is bigger than the stock one, hence using the adaptors).

Here\'s a pic of the adaptor and AN fittings on the front cover:

You can see the OMP adaptor in this photo too :)
