hello peeps, long time no speaky for me on here!!

well i just thought id give an update on my death sled cappo / rex build,
got an apexi ecu ( wrong year 96model, mine is a 93...) bought a later spec loom and spliced that into existing 93 rex/suzuki loom and used a poor translated pin out diagram for a 96 on model and set the pins into the appropriate holes on the loom connectors. Only prob was the four o.m.p wires didnt translate well and it didnt tell me which one was which so i hit a brick wall. Fortuneately i managed to track down the chappy i got the ecu from before he scrapped his rex and he sent down the rex loom connectors with a bit of wire left on there so i could work out the last four wire positions. Its quite good as earlier and later looms seem to use the same colour coding :Giggle

So i connected the battery, stopped crapping my pants and turned on the ignition. the commander light up!!  yay!!

Went into the sensor check section in etc and tested- no highlighted areas for faults ! double yay!

Triple yay- it started up!

But its still fluffy so im now in the process of testing bits n bobs out on car now , fuel is getting old on there and i dont know if the previous owner has used the right premix ratio. Better to start again i think so i know i can eliminate that from the problem chart so to speak.

So peeps for a rex engine not running an omp what ratio of oil shall i use with the petrol?

Cant wait to post up on u.s rx7 forum and prove some of those arsey peeps on there saying what i did cant be done and im wasting my time- i proved em wrong!! lol

Oredered new plugs too as i think they have been flooded too many times

Thanks in advance,

tommo-r

hi there,

i would say you are looking at a ratio of about 100:1 on a rx7 with no omp.
On my fc i add 10 ml of 2 stoke oil to 1 litre of v power.
Also use a good oil something like motul 710.

hope this helps.:)

Any reason why you have removed the OMP? Usually if you are wanting fresh clean oil injected you just fit the adaptor and run marine 2 stroke.

the bloke who i bought it from said it was too complicated or something along those lines to have in operating- i have not looked too deep into at the moment all i do know is that its wired in and tied in at the footwell. ideally i want that back in the system fully running to make life easier and simplistic. Anyone see why he didnt use it??

Thanks for all your input so far peeps, im proper in at the deep end with this project and i need all the help i can get :-) worst bit is i know before you set about putting a stand alone ecu in you\'re meant to have a fully working car but i dont/didnt have that option... plus to have someone check it out is a fair bit more complex as its a hybrid of car looms / setup so going over someone elses logic is a big task even before starting on tuning it. Hence why im having to try n suss it out myself :-)

seen a bit on net about people using gravity fed reservoirs to the omp- anyone here do this ? also if i decide on going back to full operative omp on the engine what bits will i need and does anyone have them if for grabs?

last but not least is there any way you can get the fuel pump running without the engine going so i can empty the old fuel out of the tank? want to put fresh premix in to elimate off fuel / wrong ratio etc :-) thanks for all input so far peoples
