I know there are a few boxing fans on here, whats your thoughts on the recent state of events with Kahns recent fight!

I think the biggest thing that surprised me was, regardless of this dude that shouldnt have been there, how could the judge on the end possibly be scoring the fight when he wasnt even watching it, he was too busy "conversing" with this guy and messing around with bits of paper! :Nono!

Mir

Well, I am on Khans side as you rightly mentioned that the judge was too busy chatting!

To be honest i think most boxing fans will just think he,s a bad looser.Wouldnt have been so bad if he,d brought this to someones attention at the time of the fight rather than a couple of weeks later when he,s had time to study the footage and try and find something wrong/untoward.
If he thinks he,s been hard done by then why not just have a rematch kick some butt and prove a point. Much better way imo:Thumbs-up

Well, that\'s what he is claiming; a re-match.

Its all understandable to take time and watch the videos again and see where he went wrong because he knew how hard he fought that fight so nothing wrong with finding out the reasons.

+ The rules state that no one can be anywhere near the Judge as soon as the bell rings and a round stops so that the judges can concentrate and point the shots.  You can clearly see in the footage, while they where throwing punches away, one of the judge was too busy doing other things.

For me that\'s enough evidence for a re-match and that\'s what Amir is claiming.  Let\'s see if British Boxing Board of Control sees that right? and back Khan?

I am not sure its that simple Lee, the camp obviously werent aware of the guy during the fight, if they had been, they may have try to get it stopped. Video footage is a big part of sport these days, recent events with racism in football, spot fixing in cricket, whipping in horse racing etc

From what news i have seen, a rematch isnt necessarily on the cards unless the Kahn camp come up with a figure attractive for the fight to go ahead and as you say, some pundits have agree\'d with your comments, he simply didnt have his tatics right on the night and boxed poorly!

However, there are dubious markings on scorecards (one still to be seen apparently) and 2 points being deducted for pushing, widely acclaimed as being extremely harsh! Without those 2 points he would have won, with one point deducted it was a draw! Had Kahn been whooped, im sure the story would be different!

Not a great watcher of boxing these days but definitely think there are some dubious surroundings with the fight going on here!

+ Add to the fact this dubious official was then celebrating with Peterson makes it all the more odd!

I Agree, he was not at his best that night.

The money involved in a re-match is a big factor and that\'s why i said above it all depends what\'s in it for BBBC when it comes to a re-match.

I think Khan will knock that guy out the way Rob and James knocked out the skylines :). Khan is a great fighter, he did have a glass jaw at one point but, he is way too strong now. He is a committed fighter and I seriously hope that, in a rematch, khan knocks him out within first 5 seconds loll

Amir Khan\'s promoters claim he has been offered a rematch with Lamont Peterson as they named the "mystery man" seen ringside at last month\'s title fight as an IBF official.
The British boxer used his Twitter account to post a series of images of the man wearing a dark hat, and to draw attention to his movements around the judges\' table.
The man was seen talking to fight superviser Michael Welsh and pointing to something on the judges\' scorecards being handled by Welsh.
Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer claims he has been identified as Mustafa Ameen.
Mr Ameen is an IBF official who was not directly involved with the fight and who is alleged to have connections with Peterson\'s trainers.

"His name is Mustafa Ameen and the IBF have confirmed to us his name, and that he\'s involved in an official capacity with the IBF," Mr Schaefer told Sky Sports News.
"However, he was not in Washington in an official IBF capacity, but the IBF asked the Washington commission to issue him a credential so that he could attend the fight."
Peterson beat the Bolton boxer to claim the IBF and WBA light-welterweight belts in a controversial points decision in Washington DC.

But the fight is now expected to be declared a no-contest amid the row.
Mr Schaefer claims Khan has been offered a rematch with the American by the WBA, and the IBF are now likely to follow suit.
"We have been informed by the WBA that they will order an immediate rematch," Mr Schaefer added.
"We received a verbal confirmation and we will get a written confirmation by Tuesday.
"That means that no fighter can take an interim fight, that the next fight for Peterson would be a rematch.
"We hope that the IBF will follow because that\'s the least they can do."

I know this whole thread is about the situation and more so the news coverage! But really wish that events such as this, the Suarez, Terry racism claims and other such situations were dealt with before we as the public get to hear about them! Twitter, Facebook etc have a lot to answer for these days!

Imho it would have been far more professional for the Kahn camp (in this instance) to get the facts and then and only then, have something to say about it! I know it gives us something to talk about and perhaps get behind, but doesnt mean i agree!

No plan B from the Freddie Roach enterprise, i have watched both Khan and Pacman box and when things go against them, there is no plan B :o

If Pacman ever fights Mayweather you will find that Roach will have no answer for the ring craft of Mayweather, and Pacman will lose the fight.

And yes outside of the ring Mayweather is unbearable, however inside, he is unbeatable as too skill full:cheers

So the re-match is on due to "too many irregularities"

Although the Ibf have had nothing to say!!

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Kahn camps approach to his defeat but it would certainly suggest there is something very dubious regarding the fight and decision, especially with the Ibf\'s silence!

I hope Kahn now goes on to defeat this guy in style, without any questionable circumstances and more so, the Ibf is thoroughly investigated as kahn getting his rematch is only half of the issue!

The only way khan is going to make up for all this making up excuses rubbish is to knock him out in the rematch.
